Welcome to Anvil Creek
Renowned internationally, the Hunter Valley is a splendid mix of cultures, lifestyles and geography that blend agreeably to create a unique territory found nowhere else in Australia.
It is a place that abounds in fascinating native flora and fauna. Alongside some of our most beautiful scenery are the cultural and culinary delights offered by leading wine makers and restaurants. Anvil Creek is a master-planned resort and residential development in the Hunter Valley Wine Country recently approved by Cessnock City Council.
The masterplan for the 423-hectare (1045 acre) site, of which more than 275 hectares will remain as open space, includes an international standard, Graham Marsh designed golf course with a clubhouse, hotel and tourist villas, a range of residential dwellings, plus commercial, retail and education precincts.
The historic location near the village of Greta, which was home to an army camp in the 1940’s and migrant camp in the 1950’s, will offer residents and visitors a wealth of interests and activities including a heritage park, working vineyard, sports oval and village centre, plus several kilometres of walking and cycling trails, all in a rural setting.
The new Hunter Expressway, currently under construction and due for completion in 2013, will place Anvil Creek at the gateway to the Wine Country. For Sydney and Newcastle traffic, the first and main Wine Country interchange from the Hunter Expressway will be at Lovedale Road, adjacent to the entrance to Anvil Creek.
The 40 kilometre long, dual carriageway expressway will significantly reduce the travel time to Anvil Creek from Sydney to approximately 1.5 hours and a comfortable commuting range for people working in the Newcastle CBD. |
